Amelia Ong

I am currently in my 3rd out of 4 years of the polytechnic. Which includes one year of the Poly Foundation Programme (PFP).

I am eager to learn and very enthusiastic when picking up a new skills. I am a team player and love to work with others. By learning how to compromise with my group mates, I can better understand them and together we can produce great results and achieve our goal.

I am passionate about taking up new skills. Therefore, i would try to get a part time job every holiday. this have taught me to step out of my comfort zone. I have learned though not perfected a level of professionalism that i hope to bring into every job I apply for.

Working in various customer service based jobs, showed me the importance of communication between different departments. From my little experiences, being specific, clear and concise is key to resolves most of the misunderstandings that occur in workplace. Understanding your target audience is vital to be able to bring across your objectives purpose and message.

I have learnt the basics of professionalism in the workplace and that there is something new to learn everyday. I have yet to learn about the marketing field and is eager to learn.

I am currently studying in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, in Hotel and leisure facilities management. In this hybrid course, I learnt the basics of consumer marketing and event planning. These courses better assisted me in the understanding of the procedures and thought process of consumers.
