I wrote a poem in iambic pentameter about 3D printing while drunk on sleep deprivation. Then I threw my first 3D printer out my hostel window in uni.
But, I stuck with it, raised three franken-printers of my own, and today, I dream of making 3D printing so capable and convenient anyone can print functional things at an affordable price. To achieve this, we need:
If you happen to share my dream, and work or own a company in 3D printing, I'd love to talk to you!
While studying, I worked in Konbini Technologies (2018 - 2019), a vending automation firm where I was an engineering intern first, and then hired as a freelancer on projects. I produced concept art and marketing renders for tenders, and took some from concept to full product. I used Fusion 360 to produce engineering drawings and CAD in sheet metal, and worked with the factory to ensure fit and reduced production costs with DFM principles.
After, I applied to Evonik's additive manufacturing photopolymers team, where I was research engineer for 3.5 years (2020 - 2023). I worked with more than 20 different brands of 3D printers and 5 major types of 3D printing technology, and developed test methods to validate our products on a wide range of 3D printers and applications. I studied post-processing techniques for each product, and developed customised workflows for customers. By comparing the build and performance of different printers, I advised management and business development on the feasibility and viability of pursuing potential business cases. Lastly I was responsible for maintaining our fleet of 3D printers.
Currently, I am at Structo, developing resin validation processes to speed up material development on their in-house developed 3D printer.
