Bryan Tan

A recent Food Technology graduate passionate about innovation, product development, and food sustainability. Has experience in developing food products including a plant based "squid" snack that attained runner-up in the 2023 Mapletree Innovation Challenge. Motivated to learn and further grow my skills through different opportunities.

Worked as an intern at SATS from Jan 2022-Jul 2022 in the Innovation and Product Development

• Ideated and formulated various RTE meals involving various ingredients for all kinds of dietary needs.
• Performed various physiochemical characterisation testing and sensory tests on food samples to ensure the quality of food is maintained.
• Conducted an improvement project to help in the dishing speed of production of RTE meals resulting in a 25% decrease in production time.
• Maintained the upkeep of the kitchen and coordinated communication with various kitchen personnel to improve food formulations and ingredient procurement.

Graduated with a Bachelor in Food Technology with Honours from Singapore Institute of Technology.

Obtained a thorough understanding of food science, engineering and business, as well as being able to utilize those fundamentals and skills in real-world applications and industrial simulations. Underwent 3 Product Development Projects and 4 Food Manufacturing Projects.

Developed a plant based ”squid” snack which won the first runner up prize in MapleTree Innovation challenge 2023 and was awarded best overall project during SIT Project Exhibition 2023
