I’m looking for a collaborative, supportive engineering team who I can work with and to provide me with exciting opportunities to discover creative solutions to novel problems. I also hope to solve design problems relating to healthcare and medical technologies to improve user experience.
Intern at High Achievers Training Consultancy, Dec 2020 to Mar 2021
Currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering (BME) at NUS, I have gained a solid foundation in key engineering principles, including biodata analysis, systems thinking, and design-thinking. I have also completed several hands-on projects through BME and my Second Major in Innovation and Design (iDP), including developing a program to analyse patient data using Python, designing an ECG device using Arduino and MATLAB, developing a systems model on the aging population in Singapore using Stella. Through this, I have sharpened my analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
In addition, I am currently undertaking an apprenticeship programme through NUS College of Design and Engineering’s Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP). My role in this project is to investigate alternative designs to SomnoDent’s Mandibular Advancement Device for sleep apnea to cater to Asians’ facial profile. This experience has granted me a unique opportunity in conducting independent research and literature review of disease fundamentals, development of user-centred medical devices, and technical writing.
