Passion in psychology and working with children

I am currently working as a Protection and Rehabilitation Officer in Child Protective Services under the Ministry of Social and Family Development. My job scope involves providing statutory intervention and supportive services to address the needs of children and young persons who have been seriously harmed or are at high risk of serious harm. I do so by conducting social investigations (interviews with parents, children, and extended family network) and providing case management services for children and young persons who have been abused or neglected by their parents or caregivers.

I also work closely with the public and people sectors, such as other professionals known to families including schools and community social service agencies, to provide services for children who are in need of statutory guidance or care and protection because of abuse, neglect, and abandonment. I have managed more than 20 families and have experience working with children ranging from infants to teens (above 16 years old).

I had recently graduated from Nanyang Technological University, School of Social Sciences with a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology (Honours Distinction) in January 2023. My final GPA was 4.29. I was previously a student in Chung Cheng High School (Main) where I took my ‘O’ Levels and subsequently took my ‘A’ Levels in Hwa Chong Junior College.
