In the classroom, I am highly engaged and focused. This comes from my passion for learning and gaining new knowledge. As I came from an educational background where I am always intellectually challenged, I have grown to appreciate rigour in whatever I invest my time and effort in.
For the most part, I always maintain a positive attitude for learning. This is demonstrated by my active participation in class discussions. As I take on more group projects in SMU, I have also become a strong team player who works well with my peers.
In a group setting, I like to take the lead in discussions and be responsible for my group’s progress.
Beyond the classroom, I juggle other commitments such as my part-time job and volunteering every week. Currently, I am volunteering with South Central Community Family Service Centre as a tutor for underprivileged children. I had also taken up various other volunteering projects and tasks in the past and have gained valuable insights into the lives of those with different backgrounds.
These precious experiences have moulded me into becoming a more empathetic and compassionate member of the community.
As I progress in SMU and become more exposed to different disciplines of study and career paths, aspirations for my future career become clearer. I am now pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Business Management and have decided to major in Marketing with a track in Marketing Analytics. This is my first step towards my long-term career aspirations, of which are: firstly, to develop my skills and gain experiences and secondly, to become a leader.
To achieve my first career aspiration, I would aim to hone my technical skills and become an industry expert. After my graduation from SMU, I aim to transfer my skills and develop them as much as possible while learning about the industry that I will be in. I believe that becoming an expert will allow me to make full use of my time in any organisation and allow me to contribute the most.
Moreover, my first goal is important as this will help me achieve my second aspiration, which is to be a leader. I wish to make an impact in the industry or organisation I am in, and contribute to the best of my abilities. To do so, I must be a leader in the organisation.
I believe that becoming a leader is not only about gaining managerial positions, but also about being able to influence others. If I can lead others to become better versions of themselves and also become a mentor to them, this will make my time in any organisation much more meaningful and enriching.
I have previous work experience as an Operations Intern at BRDGE Technology Pte Ltd, where I was awarded Intern of the Month and was able to improve customer service and workflow efficiency. I also have experience as a part-time bubble tea barista at CHICHA Sanchen and a retail assistant at TANGS.
I am a current student at Singapore Management University pursuing a Bachelor of Business Management with a major in Marketing and a track in Marketing Analytics. I have a strong academic record, with a GPA of 3.58/4.0 and is a member of SMU Marketing Society.
