Jerome Tay

Jerome Tay Zi Hao, highly driven and motivated undergraduate of The University of Singapore. Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Science (Chemistry) with honours. Graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a diploma in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering in 2018 (GPA: 3.82/4.00). Previously a student intern at Shell Chemicals Seraya Pte Ltd, headed a project to reorganize process variable alarms and improved safety in the work environment. An active member of the NUS Students' Science Club, dedicated to improving student life in NUS Science by organizing events (Science Sports Games, StepUP, etc).

• Nominated as project leader and developed an organizational system to streamline weekly department meetings
• Collaborated with work associates from other departments over the course of 3 months to reorganize process variable alarms, improved safety in the work environment
• Coordinated with external organizations and facilitated the replacement of 3 heat exchanger units
• Enforced, upheld industrial safety guidelines, and intervened in safety violations committed by work associates across the 6 months internship
• Directed meetings with external safety engineers to evaluate the structural integrity of multiple on-site frame supports
