Jianhan Li

I am a graduating student from the National University of Singapore. I am passionate about making high quality, secure and scalable software, using best practices and well-tested code. My expertise is in database systems, including distributed databases.

I am aware of the security implications of software implementations and strive to adopt best industry practices to avoid security flaws. I have several work experiences in the past with SMEs, which are detailed in my CV. I have also been actively contributing to open source projects, and made considerable impacts to those projects, also detailed in my CV.

Affinidi / Trustana, Backend Engineering Intern May 2022 – Aug 2022

• Trustana is a curated marketplace of verifiable, international traders designed to empower buyers and suppliers to grow their businesses
• Implemented a serverless application in Java that performs scheduled audits on business data, enabling automatic report generation 
• Developed a GitLab CI/CD pipeline enabling Continuous Delivery, from build to deployment to production
• Implemented infrastructure-as-code deployments using AWS’ Serverless Application Model (SAM)
• Built a data lake running on Amazon S3, creating a centralized pool of data that can be easily consumed by applications or transformed and loaded into a data warehouse like Amazon Redshift
• Deployed a Metabase instance to Amazon EC2 with security configurations and scheduled daily backups to mitigate data failures

Toppan Ecquaria, Product Management / UX Design Intern May 2021 – Aug 2021

• Toppan Ecquaria is a leading global provider of digital government software and solutions
• Designed wireframes and UX prototypes with Axure RP for a healthcare service licensing web application 
• Analysed business and functional requirements and created visualizations for complex user flows and scenarios

TEAMMATES, Backend Developer and Project Lead Aug 2020 – Present

• Developed and maintained TEAMMATES, an open-source online peer evaluation platform, used by more than 500,000 users from over 2,000 educational institutions
• Upgraded the backend environment to use Google App Engine’s second-generation runtime, from the previous first-generation runtime
• Migrated the legacy search service which comes bundled with Google App Engine to a standalone enterprise-grade Solr search service
• Currently leading the migration from Google Cloud Datastore to Cloud SQL
