Currently researching to synthesize degradable yet functional thermoplastics and thermosets as my URECA project.
Exploring different fields of chemistry as a sophomore at NTU with plans to further familiarize myself with pharmaceutical and polymer chemistry.
Researching as a part of Undergraduate Research Experience on CAmpus (URECA) program. Thermosets are a useful plastic used in many industries; however, the drawback of thermosets is their difficulty in being degraded. The environmental damage that comes with the convenient use of thermosets is a concern.
In this project, I aim to synthesize degradable thermosets that burden the environment less after their use while retaining their useful properties of tensile strength, thermal tolerance, and solvent tolerance. By maintaining the characteristic properties, the newly synthesized thermosets could continue to be used in industries.
Currently a second year in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry Undergraduate Bachelor's Degree in Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
