I started investing in bitcoin and researching about blockchain in mid-2017, at that time, bitcoin was only $2000. I read the bitcoin whitepaper, and knew the potential of bitcoin becoming an alternative monetary standard. I experienced the 2018 crash and the current 2022 downturn, but I am still fully confident of the future of blockchain on our financial world.

One huge potential that blockchain can offer, is the NFTs space. It has the ability to provide ownership and provenance for unique digital assets. NFTs use blockchain technology to create a unique, tamper-proof digital record of ownership for a particular asset, such as a piece of digital art, a video game item, or a tweet.

DeFi is another sector in the crypto space where I am actively involved, providing liquidity and staking to earn passive income.

Over the past 7 years of experience working in the investment teams of both Maybank and IPPFA, I managed to build many great relationships with business partners. Such networking is essential when working with the various fund partners, as it allows work to get done more efficiently.

In Maybank, I was fortunate to be able to experience how to launch an exclusive product from scratch. I was part of the team that proposed, did all necessary due diligence, and saw through the whole process of the launch of an exclusive fund partnership. I conducted numerous fund trainings of RMs, and coupled with effective marketing campaigns, this launch was a success. We raised over S$150m in two months.

In IPP, I was in the investment team which managed the in-house portfolio from S$2 million to over S$100 million in 3 years. During this stint, I was able to put my CFA knowledge to use, in terms of portfolio management. I was able to influence the final geographical asset allocation, as well as the underlying funds, with in depth due diligence and analysis.
