Matthew Ang

Recently graduated from NUS with a specialisation in Finance and second major with economics, I have a keen interest in studying data to derive impactful findings for businesses.

I am currently working at PwC Singapore as a Data & Analytics Consultant. Though my course of study was not related to Data Analytics & Data Science, through my previous internship at RSM Singapore, I gained an interest in Data Analytics through the many internal as well as projects that I contributed to during my time there.

During my time at RSM Singapore, my day to day tasks included creating automation workflows to streamline audit data analytics procedures as well as implementing Power BI dashboards to derive impactful findings and identify audit discrepancies. During the internship, I had the chance to clean, structure, and transform a listed client's accounting data in KNIME, and later analyse and provide insights on their payroll and revenue using Power BI. I also managed to collaborate on some Python projects which included a SG PayNow QR Code program as well as web scraping Google and TripAdvisor reviews.

My most recent project in PwC Singapore involved designing a Partner Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey across three business units (Sales & Marketing, Procurement, Maritime), building Alteryx workflows to automate Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, and delivering 14 reports with key insights, analysis, and recommendations for Executive Leaders across the APAC region for a Global Energy, Resource and Mining company.

I recently graduated from NUS with a specialisation in Finance and a second major in Economics. In the course of my study, I have completed modules such as Programming for Business Analytics which was conducted in Python as well as statistic modules such for econometrics which developed my interest in Data Analytics.
