Cultivated many good habits and gained many experiences through all my internships. A great team player and an efficient solo worker. Specialised Nutrition Intern, FrieslandCampina, Singapore August 2022 – Dec 2022

• Led Flavour Harmonisation Project, planned out flavour profiling sessions, producing individual flavour and full formulation profiling databases
• Started on Product line expansion project, created prototypes for two flavours, currently waiting for Marketing team to continue
• Reformulated Infant Formulas and Follow-On Formulas, developed new Premixes, resulting in new formulations fitting into legislations and recommendations
• Improved efficiency of formulations in Excel Sheets, created a seamless and accurate Excel Workbook, allowing convenient and accurate reformulation of any part of the recipe in the future
• Conducted Shelf-life testing, gained many technical skills with the wide exposure to lab equipment, completed Shelf-life study up till Month 5
• Entered company when projects were fresh, preliminary research had to be done, resulting in proficient market research skills

  Research Technologist Intern, Symrise Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, Singapore Dec 2021 – May 2021

• Part of the Natural Flavour and Reaction Team, carried out natural thermal flavour and Maillard reactions, resulting in satisfying customers’ requests
• Embarked on newly established Garden Lab initiative project, went through preliminary processes of a new project with many trial and errors, managed to gain progress with promising results 
• Conducted preliminary research on possible methodologies for the Garden Lab Initiative, was required to understand and translate the research into applicable information since the project was novel
• Acquired techniques such as operating the pressure reactor, as well as methods for flavour extraction such as column chromatography

  Research Intern, A*STAR Singapore Institute of Food Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI), Singapore

• Developed meat analogues using different ratios of various plant proteins, obtained the optimal ratio, used in subsequent trials
• Acquired lab techniques and skills such as Kjedahl method and Texture Analyzer, worked independently to carry out various analyses on the meat analogue, developed accurate lab etiquette
• Characterized meat analogues’ physicochemical properties, evaluated the results, to be used in supervisor’s seed grant 
• Formulated certain Asian products to be used at the final stage, optimized the formulations, to be used for the end products with meat analogue incorporated 
• Conducted intensive research on meat alternatives, analysed data from own trials, developed sound reasoning and explanations for the results obtained
