Russell Cheok

Hello, my name is Russell, and I have always been passionate linguistics, culture, and about helping people from different countries communicate and make fruitful connections. I have a strong passion in linguistics and education, and I am extremely motivated in guiding students in their learning needs, and to develop themselves within society.

I have been working in the education field for about six years starting from developing policies on adult education to becoming an ESL teacher in teaching a variety of international students as young as children (6 years old) to adults (60 years old).

I have always loved the Italian culture and language, and my passion in linguistics and brings me to teach in Italy. I also took up Italian classes previously, and finished my classes at the A1 level. I took up my teaching licence to teach in 2021 and my Master in Applied Linguistics to learn more about language science. A big part of my interest in linguistics includes Intercultural awareness and pragmatics.

I also enjoy applying language learning techniques in my teaching methods have gone through training in the methodologies of CLT and TBLT. I also really like teaching, both children and adults, and I aspire to expand my skills from teaching in Asia to teaching in Europe.

I am proficient in both in and out of the classroom in terms of classroom management, curriculum development, and also teacher training. I am also very flexible in teaching different kinds of students with different needs. I am also creative, and have the flexibility of working well in teams, and on my own.

I have been an ESL teacher for 4 years and have taught a wide range of international students from 4 years old to 60 years old

I have a Masters in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) and a Diploma in TESOL. I also have a Degree in Communications and English
