I am currently a Year 2 Quantitative Economics and Finance student at Singapore Management University. Nearing the end of my study year and the start of my summer, I am excited about the opportunity to apply my analytical skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.
Throughout my academic studies, I have developed a strong understanding micro- and macroeconomics, economic theory, and statistical analysis. I have also gained experience using tools such as R and Excel to analyse data and make informed decisions. Although my background is primarily in economics and quantitative economics, I have a basic understanding of finance and financial markets, and I am eager to continue learning and developing my finance skills in a professional setting.
In my previous internships, I was able to apply my economics, mathematic and financial skills on the job. Working at CIMB Bank Forex department allowed me to apply macroeconomic and econometrical skills to study seasonality and market trends that affected the inflow and outflow of currencies. I was also given the opportunity to present to my department on the driving factors of our banknotes industry which helped me develop my presentation and communication skills.
In iFAST, I was able to help with the calculation of ratios for benchmarking, basic analysis of companies, as well as the basics of the Bloomberg Terminal.
Taking up multiple jobs since I was 16, I have worked hard to develop my communication, redressal and soft skills through sales, tutoring and swabbing. Additionally, being given the opportunity to lead a company/platoon during my National Service, I am confident in my ability to work in a team or to lead at any given moment.
I am currently a Year 2 Quantitative Economics and Finance student at Singapore Management University. GPA: 3.78/4.0, deans list.
