Shafiq Apandi is a documentary photographer based in Singapore. He works with photography to explore social, cultural and political relationships.
Shafiq started his photography journey in 2019 when he was caught in the middle of a protest in Avignon, France, on International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Inspired by the hardship faced by different communities, he is committed to document the life of ordinary people caught up in extraordinary situations.
Upon graduating from film studies, he served his National Service with Singapore Civil Defence Force in the Media Production Unit.
