Finance & Operations Lead: On the Finance front, I overlook all money matters to provide the leadership with decision-making support. Under Operations, I ensure that Resource Planning is on point by consulting the clients and predicting the long-term provision of resources in line with our goals.
While developing mentoring plans for 6 Associates and overseeing our overall operation, I was also evaluating financial data and ensuring compliance. During this time, I collaborated with Controllership to develop a model that enabled high-frequency cash flow monitoring via internal controls.
As all but two resources on our team of 10 were departing before the 1st year, I got an excellent opportunity to assume more senior-level tasks than anybody in my profile. After shadow training, I was fully responsible for all operational and bookkeeping aspects of 4 clients across 2 continents.
In a Senior Associate capacity, I work as a Finance & Operations Lead with Publicis Sapient, a digital consulting company, to handle our portfolio of retail clients. Engaging with global clients across four countries, dealing with over 400 individuals, and having eight direct reports regularly have developed excellent client-facing, budget-management, and problem-solving skills in me, and above all, has provided me with the capability to lead culturally diverse teams.
On the Financial front, I am in charge of financial planning & analysis and P&L Management. In simpler terms, I analyze all money matters and end-to-end cash flows to assist the leadership with decision-making support. Recently, we returned our portfolio to a path of greater profitability, achieving a 61% profit margin.
We achieved this by limiting the surplus marketing expenses and the cost of resources that were not billed to the client. On the Operations front, I ensure that Resource Planning is on point by consulting the clients and predicting the long-term provision of resources in line with our strategic goals. For this, I conduct ~3 daily meetings, juggling 40+ Client-heads to cultivate working relationships.
In 2021, I worked on the financial modeling and even engaged in negotiations with Walmart, ultimately winning the pitch. My organization’s CEO applauded this, and as a result, I have secured a hike of 40% bonus when appraisals are on hold. In addition, I have won the Client Impact Award for my recent achievements.
