Yi Ming Lye

I am graduated my Master degree from department of Veterinary Medicine at National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan in Aug 2021. My research study is “Expression of porcine reproduction and respiratory syndrome viruses (PRRSVs) heterologous proteins by baculovirus-insect cell expression system”.

In my research study, I had learnt laboratory technical skills about vaccine biotechnology where it includes isolation DNA/ RNA to run PCR, real-time PCR and Elisa. Used Ni-NTA column protein purification for running Western blot. Maintenance of suspension insect cell line and etc.

After graduated, I had do as research assistant, such like mouse handling, give drugs to mice via intraperitoneal (IP) and intravenous (IV) injection), dissected organs of mouse and maintained mouse breast cancer cell cultures.

A “can do” attitude, and game to take on new challenges. Gaining new knowledge and creating methods to improve processes and enjoy the feeling of make things happen.

Research assistant

1. Perform various assigned administrative duties including purchasing (Ariba system) and maintain lab records.
2. Provide the lab with mouse neuronal co-cultures and astrocyte cultures.
3. Maintain mouse lines including WT (C57BL/6J) and five transgenic lines.
4. Transcardiac perfusion of the mouse for brain tissue dissection.
5. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining and Immunocytochemistry (ICC) staining.
6. Proficient in Zeiss confocal microscopy and image analysis software such as ZEN, Imaris and ImageJ.
7. Assigned as fire warden and safety representative.
8. Dissected organs of mouse (BALB/c).
9. Delivered drugs to mice via intraperitoneal (IP) and intravenous (IV) injection.
10. Genotyped and maintained mouse breeding lines.
11. Maintained mouse 4T1 breast cancer cell cultures.

I am master of Veterinary Medicine holding, but I am study for research not for clinical. So, I am more related to biology technical field.
