My name is Yooko Y. Susanto and I have been working at the Embassy of the United States of America – Jakarta, Indonesia since 19th February 2002. I started my journey at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta by working for the Office of the Military Attaché for Defense Programs (OMADP) that was renamed in year 2003 as the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC). Then since April 2015 until present day, I have been working for the Force Protection Detachment (FPD).
During these 21+ years, while working on many missions involving the bilateral and multilateral engagements between the USG and GOI/ other APAC countries, I have gained and developed broad skills in force protection, project and case management, team’s leaderships, team’s work, facilitating courtesy calls associated with High Level Visits (HLV), includes ensuring all security aspects, travel arrangements and other logistics requirements are delivered to meet the expectations and objectives of the missions.
I gained my first supervisory skills while working with the ODC between the period of year 2010 – 2015; then while working with the FPD, in August 2019, I was promoted as the Senior Foreign Service National Investigator (FSNI) to provide the guidance and instruction on administrative and operational matters in support of the FPD Indonesia core mission to the rest of the FPD local employee staff.
The last High Level Visits (HLV) that I supported was the 2022 G20, Nusa Dua, Bali, 15–16 November 2022. I was assigned to support the Secret Service Team of The President of The United States (POTUS) and to mark the success of that HLV, my team received the Group Honor Awards in February 2023.
I obtain my Postgraduate Diploma in Risk, Crisis & Disaster Management (by long-distance course) from University of Leicester, U.K. in November 2014.
