I am writing to express my interest in the Software Engineering Internship Programme. I am currently a student at NUS perusing Computer Science with a second major in Quantitative Finance. Upon finding out about the internship programme, I was very excited as I believe this role fits my technical skill set perfectly.

I also felt that the responsibilities of this position are ones that I value and wish to pursue in the future as well. As I come from a strong technical background with a passion for information technology and quantitative analysis, I believe I am equipped with the necessary credentials needed to contribute meaningfully as a team member.

During my first year of study, I participated in many group projects already. Perhaps most notable is my role in the NUSC Presidential Directorate special programmes committee. Together with four other tech-savvy peers, we are responsible for the maintenance and implementation of a NUSC Wiki that helps current and incoming students to familiarise this new university setting.

Prior to university, I was also part of the leadership team for many events and clubs in high school. One such example was the Rangitoto College Chinese Night, which was an annual cultural event that accommodated over one thousand audience members and performers. This involvement has greatly extended my interpersonal skills, making me a responsible and committed team player.

I believe that my extensive experience in leadership and group work will allow me to thrive as a valuable member.

Indeed, I must also acknowledge that this internship role will no doubt pit me against certain challenges and obstacles. As my first time working in an industry setting with very real stakes, my abilities will be tested to their limits. However, I have faith in my resilience and willingness to learn.

I see this internship programme as an invaluable opportunity to learn both important coding knowledge and interpersonal skills that can not be taught in a classroom. Therefore, I will display my most positive and enthusiastic attitude.
