I have been involved in various projects within construction companies and have conducted scientific research at the Earthquake and Structural Engineering Laboratory, Construction Materials Laboratory, and Composite Materials Laboratories of Istanbul Technical University, working with a wide range of structural systems composed of steel, reinforced concrete, timber, rubber-based components, and advanced composite materials such as textile-reinforced cementitious composites (TRCC). I carried out this research as a member of the team led by Prof. Dr.
Ercan Yüksel, Head of the Earthquake and Structural Engineering Laboratory and Director of the Earthquake Engineering and Disaster Management Institute at Istanbul Technical University.
Structural and Earthquake Engineer with a PhD from Istanbul Technical University, specializing in the seismic behavior of structural systems and low-damage design approaches.
I have been involved in both research and industry projects as part of the research team led by Prof. Dr. Ercan Yüksel, Director of the Earthquake and Structural Engineering Laboratory at Istanbul Technical University.
My work has included experimental and analytical studies on a range of structural systems and components made of steel, reinforced concrete, rubber-based materials, and advanced composites. I contributed to these projects as a research assistant during my Master’s studies and as the main researcher during my PhD.
My work includes the experimental and analytical investigation and development of precast post-tensioned rocking wall systems with self-centering capability, as well as energy-dissipating devices, base isolation elements, and wall–floor connectors. I have experience in designing test setups and developing testing programs to evaluate structural response, along with conducting large-scale quasi-static cyclic and shake table tests. I have also performed nonlinear numerical modeling using Abaqus, Perform-3D, SeismoStruct, SAP2000, and other structural analysis tools.
I have contributed to multiple funded research projects, including one European Union-supported international project and several national projects, and have published in journals such as Engineering Structures, Structures, and Bulletin of Earthquake Engineering.
I am interested in seismic performance evaluation, performance-based design, and the development of practical and reliable engineering solutions to improve structural resilience.
