How to Delete Your BeBee Account

If you no longer wish to use BeBee, you can permanently delete your account. This guide explains the process, the 48-hour confirmation window, and what data is retained for legal compliance.

Before You Delete

We recommend completing these steps first:

• Export your data -- Download a copy of your profile, messages, applications, and other information. See Data Export for instructions.
• Cancel active subscriptions -- If you have a Premium or Premium+ subscription, cancel it in Dashboard > Settings > Subscription to avoid future charges. Deletion alone does not automatically trigger a refund.
• Save important messages -- Once your account is deleted, all conversations are permanently removed.

Steps to Delete Your Account

1. Log in to your BeBee account.
2. Go to Dashboard > Settings.
3. Select the Account tab.
4. Scroll to the bottom and click Delete Account.
5. Read the summary of what will be removed.
6. Enter your password (or confirm via Google if using OAuth).
7. Click Confirm Deletion.

You will receive a confirmation email immediately.

The 48-Hour Window

After you confirm deletion, your account enters a 48-hour processing period:

• Your profile is immediately hidden from other users and search engines.
• You can still log in during this period.
• A banner at the top of the page offers a Cancel Deletion button.
• If you do not cancel, the deletion becomes permanent after 48 hours.

What Gets Deleted

• Your profile, photo, and all personal information
• Messages and conversations
• Job applications and saved jobs
• Service requests and proposals
• Reviews you have written and received
• Push notification subscriptions
• Email preferences and notification settings

What Is Retained

To comply with legal and regulatory requirements, BeBee retains the following in anonymized form:

• Transaction records -- Payment history for tax and accounting purposes (up to 5 years).
• Fraud prevention data -- Anonymized activity logs used to prevent abuse (up to 2 years).
• Legal holds -- If your data is subject to an ongoing legal matter, it may be retained until the matter is resolved.

None of the retained data contains personally identifiable information.

Search Engine Deindexing

Upon deletion, BeBee automatically submits deindexing requests to Google, Bing, and other major search engines. Cached pages typically disappear within 2-4 weeks. If you find a cached page persisting beyond that, contact privacy@bebee.com for assistance.
