Junior IT & Cloud Operations Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Junior IT & Cloud Operations Engineer to help maintain our internal IT environment, keep our websites on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) stable and secure, and manage our Cloudflare services. This role suits early-career engineers who want hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, web operations, and cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

IT Maintenance

• Provide day-to-day IT support for employees, including hardware, software, network, and account issues
• Set up, maintain, and track company devices, peripherals, and software licenses
• Manage user accounts and access permissions (e.g., Google Workspace, internal systems)
• Maintain office network equipment such as routers, switches, and Wi-Fi
• Document IT procedures, asset inventories, and troubleshooting guides

Website Maintenance (GCP)

• Monitor and maintain websites and services hosted on GCP (e.g., Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL)
• Perform routine updates, patches, backups, and restore tests
• Monitor uptime, performance, and logs using Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging, and respond to alerts
• Assist with deployments, environment configuration, and cost monitoring
• Troubleshoot website errors and coordinate with developers to resolve issues

Cloudflare Management

• Manage DNS records, SSL/TLS certificates, and domain settings
• Configure and tune caching, page rules, and performance optimization settings
• Maintain WAF rules, rate limiting, and bot management policies
• Monitor traffic analytics and investigate abnormal traffic patterns

Security & Protection

• Monitor for security threats, including DDoS attacks, malicious traffic, and unauthorized access
• Apply security best practices for IAM, firewall rules, and least-privilege access on GCP
• Conduct routine vulnerability checks and help remediate findings
• Assist in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reporting
• Help maintain security policies such as password rules, MFA, and endpoint protection

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 0–2 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or cloud operations
• Basic understanding of networking (DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS)
• Familiarity with Linux command line and basic system administration
• Basic knowledge of GCP or another cloud platform (AWS, Azure)
• Eagerness to learn, strong problem-solving skills, and good communication

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare (DNS, WAF, CDN)
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python)
• Experience with Docker, Git, or CI/CD tools
• Certifications such as Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer, CompTIA Security , or CCNA
