Network Engineer

Description

• Responsible for administration of network and firewalls
• Required to follow detailed change management and incident management processes.
• Investigate and resolve incident tickets
• Technical escalation points of contact for L1 & L2 engineers
• Review Engineering Work Orders/Technical implementation plan.
• Prepare and implement change plans.
• Execute emergency changes
• Perform RCA's
• Work with vendor for incident resolution if needed.
• Provide technical training for L1 & L2
• On call / shift work may be required
• Responsible for translating client requirements into detailed actions for execution
• Troubleshoot traffic passing managed firewalls
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues through LB and firewalls
• Utilize packet capture features to aid in analysis of network issues.
• Responsible to review work products from Level 2 support organization and mentor level 2 personnel to meet quality and timeliness requirements.
• Work in a fast-paced operations environment.
• Technically matured to take on Service Improvement plans for Operation mgmt.

Note

• Need to support entire prudential.
• required to be Client On-Site Support and on call if needed. (Based on client requirement)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 8 years of hand-on experience working in large Network Operations (>1000 devices) environment as a level 2 NOC engineer role or above.
• Experience in network security devices handling for both designs, deploy and operations support:
• Optional tools Knowledge on
• Wireless technologies (Cisco, HP Aruba)
• At least one of the following vendor certifications is required, the ability to acquire the others within the first year is expected:

· CCNA/CCNP/CCIE

· CCNA Security/CCSP

· Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE

• 3-7 years’ experience with Checkpoint, Cisco (Switches/routers/Firewalls), Cisco Nexus Switches
• 2-3 Year F5 LTM, Juniper, FortiGate, PAN and Tipping Point firewalls
• Expert knowledge on Checkpoint Firewalls in terms of troubleshooting issues and BAU rule base updates. NAT, application/URL filtering IPS, and other blades
• Expert knowledge on Zscaler Internet Access products in terms of troubleshooting whitelisting issues, SSL interception, cert validation etc.
• Expert knowledge on F5 APM, LTM, GTM, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Familiar and experienced with NIDS/NIPS technologies
• Familiar with ITIL concepts, advantage if ITIL certified
• Strong understanding on OSI Layer.
• Excellent TCP/IP networking skills
• Good communication skill in English – both writing and speaking
• Ability to work within a global organization with different cultures
• Detail Oriented, Logical and process oriented
• Familiarity with Entuity, Remedy Force, SPLUNK, WhatsUP Gold, Thousand Eye, Algosec highly desired

Technology expertise

• Expert knowledge on Routing (e.g. BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, PIM, GRE, VRF etc.), Switching (VPC, STP, EtherChannel etc.), configuration and troubleshooting.
• VPN technologies experience be it IPSec using firewalls, routers or other interoperable devices, both setup and troubleshooting
• Nexus 9K, 7K, 5K, and 2K configuration and troubleshooting
• Cisco ISR4K, ASR, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Good knowledge on Citrix SD-WAN
• configuration and troubleshooting.
• Good Knowledge of Fore scout NAC, Cisco ISE and Zscaler.
• Troubleshooting incidents.
• Knowledge on policies setup

Good knowledge on Wireless LAN solution

• Cisco Wireless LAN configuration and troubleshooting.
• Aruba Wireless LAN configuration and troubleshooting.

Good to have.

• Knowledge on analysing packet capture/Wireshark output
• Knowledge of supporting McAfee NSM and IPS sensors
• Knowledge on supporting Cisco ISE / Cisco ACS
• Knowledge on Azure networking (VNET peering, ExpressRoute, NSG etc)
