About the Role Google Cloud's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day.

As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google Cloud's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. You will anticipate our customer needs and be empowered to act like an owner, take action, and innovate. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

In this role, you will perform research, design, and development for the hardware, software, and networking technologies that power all of Google's products and services. You will work on solutions to deliver the next-generation compute, storage, and networking products for the Google worldwide data centers.

Responsibilities

• Lead members to enhance the diagnostic infrastructure and manage multiple tasks and projects for self and other members.
• Keep the Google test fleet in perfect shape and maximize its usage.
• Design, plan, implement, and debug diagnostic tools in the Google Cloud platform for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
• Design, plan, implement, and debug diagnostic infrastructure and provide technical support.
• Enhance the quality, performance processes, or coverage of the diagnostic tool or utility of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• Experience with system programming and debugging.
• Experience in leading and managing teams or projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience in developing software that interacts with hardware.
• Experience in developing software for data center automation.
• Experience with the Linux operating system.
• Experience in developing software for High Performance Computing (HPC) manufacturing.
