Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled DPI Engine Developer to join our OT/ICS cybersecurity team. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize our Deep Packet Inspection engine - a core component responsible for real-time traffic analysis, protocol identification, and threat detection across industrial and enterprise networks. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working close to the network stack and thrives on solving complex, performance-critical problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the DPI engine's core architecture, ensuring high throughput, low latency, and reliability under production network loads
• Implement and optimize protocol parsers and dissectors for both IT and OT/ICS protocols
• Develop signature-based and behavior-based detection framework for identifying malicious or anomalous network traffic
• Conduct protocol reverse engineering and analysis for proprietary or undocumented industrial protocols
• Perform asset fingerprinting and device identification based on network traffic patterns
• Optimize DPI engine performance through efficient memory management, multi-threading, and CPU/resource-aware design
• Collaborate with threat research and detection teams to translate threat intelligence into actionable detection logic
• Write and maintain technical documentation for protocol specifications, engine architecture, and detection logic
• Drive the adoption and implementation of AI-assisted SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) practices across the team
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, guiding architectural decisions and best practices

Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Strong proficiency in C with solid understanding of low-level systems programming
• Experience developing or maintaining DPI engines, IDS/IPS systems, or similar network security products
• Familiarity with Linux systems programming and kernel-level networking concepts
• Hands-on experience with network protocol analysis and packet processing
• Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to perform detailed forensic analysis on network traffic
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with security research, QA, and product teams

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with embedded Linux distributions (e.g., Yocto Project, OpenWRT).
• Experience with embedded system debugging tools
• Experience with OT/ICS protocols
• Background in industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, or critical infrastructure security
• Experience with signature rule engines (Snort/Suricata-style rules) or custom detection rule languages
