Technical Program Manager

[Carrier Program Manager]

Responsibilities:

A.) Carrier Requirements & Sample Management (~80%)

• To track carrier technical requirements, maintain compliance matrices across programs, coordinate test device logistics, and follow up on certification deliverables.
• Example Scenario: Review new carrier requirement specs for an upcoming release, update the compliance sheet with current engineering status, track down open items with tech leads, and manage flashing and shipping of test devices to external carrier labs.
• Deliverables: Up-to-date carrier compliance matrices, device sample tracking sheets, and weekly deliverable status reports.

B.) Modem Field Testing (~20%)

• To run hands-on field & drive tests on live networks to verify modem stability and features (e.g. 5G SA, VoNR, and new smartphone cellular features).
• Example Test Scenario: Run drive or walk routes to test VoNR call stability, 5G SA data throughput, and handovers in weak signal areas. When an issue occurs (e.g., dropped call or data stall), capture modem logs, record the cell/location info, and file a bug in Issue Tracker with logs and repro steps.
• Deliverables: Field test summary reports (test cases, pass/fail status, KPIs) and filed Issue Tracker bugs with attached modem logs.

Service & Deliverables

C.) Carrier Program Management & Deliverables (~80%)

• Maintain and update carrier compliance matrices in Google Sheets / internal tracking tools, updating status within 5 biz. days upon receiving new carrier specifications or engineering updates.
• Manage prototype test device allocation, flashing, and shipping to carrier labs, keeping device inventory tracking sheets 100% up to date within 3 biz. days of any device transfer.
• Follow up on open carrier related action items with engineering teams and deliver a weekly carrier status report to stakeholder by every Fri. at 5:00 PM TST (Taiwan Standard Time).

D.) Modem Field Testing (~20%)

• Execute assigned field & drive test routes for modem features (5G SA, VoNR, network slicing) according to the test plan, completing all planned test runs within 5 biz. days of receiving the test build.
• Log all Failure cases & Network issues into Issue Tracker within 1 biz. day of test completion, attaching complete Modem diagnostic logs and detailed Reproduction steps.
• Deliver a written Field test execution summary report (pass/fail rate, coverage maps, and key KPIs) within 3 biz. days after concluding each test campaign.

E.) Co-work w/ Google US team occasionally (meeting)

Qualifications:

• Graduated from recognized universities w/ a Science or Engineering related degree.
• 5+ yrs working exp. in wireless, smartphone testing, carrier certification, or technical program coordination.
• Knowledge of LTE/5G technologies, incl. 5G SA, VoNR, mobility/handover, and cellular voice/data performance.
• Exp. managing Carrier requirements, Compliance matrices, Technical action items, Device samples, and Project deliverables.
• Hands-on exp. w/ Smartphone testing, Software flashing, Field/drive testing, Modem log collection, and Issue reporting.
• Hands-on exp. using Issue-tracking systems and Documenting clear Reproduction steps & Test results.
• Proficiency w/ Google Sheets/Excel and strong Organizational, Analytical, and Technical reporting skills.
• Strong English communication and cross-functional coordination skills. TOEIC >650, or equivalent certificate
• Willingness to perform Field/drive testing and Travel when required.

Others:

• Bilingual capability is required (Mandarin & English).

Mandarin speaking/reading is essential skill in HCLTech Taiwan.

• Working location: may adjust to Xindian per Google's request
• Taiwan APRC is required w/ expat.
