Senior Java Software Engineer

Job description for a Senior Software Engineer joining the Smart Vision team

This role is critical to scaling our backend systems that support our client AI Smart Vision initiatives.

What project we have for you

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Smart Vision team, building and maintaining backend services that integrate with and support our client AI-powered services. You’ll work on systems that handle feed management, live video streaming, notifications, and device management—enabling next-generation AI features like intelligent video captioning, smart search, and advanced threat detection. These systems process ~1.4B records/month and serve millions of users globally.

What you will do

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services that integrate with Smart Vision AI services

Build APIs and data pipelines that feed video and event data to AI/ML inference systems

Optimize API performance and reduce latency for feed metadata, calendar, and streaming endpoints

Build scalable data pipelines using DynamoDB Streams for real-time event processing

Implement caching strategies and performance optimizations for high-throughput systems

Collaborate with AI/ML engineers and DevOps/SRE teams

Participate in on-call rotations and mentor junior engineers

What you need for this

8+ years of backend software development experience

Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot

Experience with AWS services (DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, EKS, SQS/SNS, Kinesis)

Strong understanding of microservices and RESTful APIs

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with C/C++, video streaming, or media systems

Familiarity with AI/ML service integration

Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, Grafana)

Background in IoT or large-scale systems
