About this course

For creatives moving from concept to production, this course shows how to set the audience, message, duration, tone and delivery constraints before work expands. You will create a beat sheet, shot list and organised reference set, making feedback, accessibility and file handoff visible to the team. This module introduces the production work of an animator and motion designer: reading a brief, defining audience and message, turning an idea into a beat sheet and shot list, checking format and delivery constraints, organizing references and explaining a first concept. Before minute 5, you will create a practical motion brief that can be shown in an interview or used on a first project. The focus is professional workflow, communication and craft rather than a software tutorial. This module develops the craft language used in animation reviews: timing, spacing, anticipation, follow-through, easing, keyframes, holds, rhythm, staging, hierarchy and readability. You will connect a visual intention to a timing choice, use a short timing chart, revise a scene from feedback and explain why a movement helps the audience rather than merely adding decoration. This module focuses on building an animation project that another person can open, understand and revise. You will organize scenes and layers, choose readable typography, coordinate sound and captions, manage assets and precompositions, protect source files, and diagnose a scene that looks correct in one context but fails at delivery size. The craft is specific to motion production and includes the documents and handoffs found in real studios. This module focuses on the production decisions that happen after the first animation is shown: gathering feedback, separating essential revision from preference, estimating impact, protecting versions, negotiating scope, checking outputs and making a delivery or return decision. You will practice a client review conversation, a revision log and a final export checklist that reflects the work of a professional animator rather than a one-off experiment. The final module gathers creative brief, timing, scene organization, typography, sound, feedback, revisions and export into a professional operating rhythm. You will audit a short project, choose portfolio evidence, explain your contribution in an interview, plan realistic work and review a delivery package without exposing confidential material. The focus is specific to animation and motion design: communication, craft, files, collaboration and sustainable production.

  • Create a short beat sheet and shot list that make the first production step visible.
  • Explain in an interview how you protect scope, feedback, accessibility, file organization and delivery expectations.
  • Describe how timing, spacing, easing, holds and rhythm change the meaning or attention of a shot.
  • Build a short timing plan for a title, object transition or explanatory diagram.
  • Use fifteen animation and motion terms accurately in a critique or interview.
