About this course
This course suits learners preparing for supervised airline operations. You will combine route, weather, notices, aircraft, fuel and crew information in a departure brief, make assumptions visible, and explain how procedures support a clear go-or-no-go decision under operator and regulator authority. This module introduces the airline pilot’s operational workflow: reading the flight release, checking weather and notices, confirming aircraft and crew information, identifying threats, briefing the departure and communicating a clear go or no-go decision. Before minute 5, you will build a departure briefing card that can be used in an interview or during supervised training. Specific flight authority always comes from the operator, approved procedures and the applicable regulator. This module develops the planning work an airline pilot performs before and during a flight: interpreting forecast and observed weather, reviewing notices and airport constraints, comparing route and alternate options, checking fuel planning assumptions and managing information updates with dispatch and the other pilot. You will practice a route briefing, identify fifteen sector terms and show how to communicate uncertainty without guessing. This module develops the pilot’s operational reading of aircraft status and load information: maintenance entries, deferred items, performance data, weight and balance, fuel assumptions, equipment configuration, checklist discipline and coordination with dispatch, maintenance and cabin crew. The goal is not to memorize aircraft-specific numbers but to show how a pilot identifies an authoritative source, recognizes an operational consequence and keeps a decision within approved limitations. This module turns technical awareness into coordinated action during delays, diversions, equipment changes, communication failures and other irregular operations. You will practice task allocation, assertive communication, workload management, cabin and dispatch coordination, decision logging and post-flight review. It is an operational and teamwork course, not a substitute for aircraft-specific abnormal or emergency procedures. The final module brings preflight planning, aircraft status, CRM and irregular operations into a complete professional cycle. You will review flight and technical records, report discrepancies, evaluate fatigue and workload, contribute to safety learning, communicate with the next shift and build an interview portfolio that proves procedural discipline without exposing confidential data. Specific logbook, safety and regulatory duties follow the operator and applicable authority.
