Module 1
Accuracy first, speed second
Everything starts with a timed baseline: you measure your own speed and error rate on a standard passage, then rebuild technique — posture, home row, numeric keypad — with a weekly practice plan that tracks both numbers.
Lessons included
- Baseline test and error rate
- Touch typing done properly
- Numeric keypad fluency
- Deliberate practice plans
- Tracking your own progress
You will be able to
- Measure your baseline speed and error rate on a standard test.
- Apply touch-typing technique for letters, symbols and the numeric keypad.
- Follow a practice plan that raises accuracy before chasing speed.
- Track weekly progress on both metrics and adjust the plan.

Fast and wrong is slow
At 60 words per minute with a 4% error rate, you create more correction work than a 45-wpm typist at 0.5%. Every uncaught error must be found, fixed and re-checked — often on someone else's time. So baseline honestly: type a fixed five-minute passage, count the errors, compute the rate. Push accuracy above 99% first; speed built on clean technique compounds, speed built on errors multiplies them.
