About this course

Suitable for anyone structuring a new project. You will draft a charter, assign ownership to deliverables and exclusions, surface assumptions, and write testable acceptance criteria. The result is a shared reference for decisions, handoffs and scope conversations. This module walks you through the discipline of turning a vague initiative into a well-defined project. You will learn how to write a concise project charter, list deliverables and exclusions, assign owners, and define acceptance criteria that leave no room for interpretation. By the end, you will be able to prevent the most common source of project failure: unclear scope. This module teaches you how to transform a project scope into a realistic, executable schedule. You will learn to break down work, identify dependencies, calculate the critical path, add buffers, and assign resources without overloading your team. By the end, you will be able to build a defensible plan that survives contact with reality. This module gives you a hands-on system for spotting risks early, tracking issues without losing them in email threads, and running a communication cadence that keeps stakeholders informed without exhausting your team. You will build a lightweight risk register, learn the difference between a risk and an issue, and design a status rhythm that fits the size of your project. Choosing between predictive, agile, and hybrid delivery depends on three factors—how well requirements are understood, how frequently stakeholders need to validate direction, and how rigid compliance constraints are. Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives function as decision points rather than rituals, and acting on what emerges from them is what makes them valuable. A delivery pack consolidates scope, schedule, budget, risk, and controls into the minimum set of documents a sponsor needs to answer what is being delivered, when, for how much, and how the project will stay on track. Governance works through three explicit layers—delivery team, project board, and sponsor—each with defined decision rights, so that routine issues are resolved without unnecessary escalation and strategic changes reach the right authority quickly.
