About this course
Built for new safety coordinators, supervisors and team members who inspect work areas. You will use clear definitions, walk through six hazard categories and record severity and likelihood in a structured log. The outcome is a finding that names evidence, risk and next action for a manager to review. This module teaches you how to walk into any workplace and systematically spot hazards before they cause harm. You will learn the difference between a hazard, an exposure, and observable evidence, and practice a repeatable inspection method. By the end, you will be able to produce a structured hazard log that a safety officer or manager can act on immediately. This module teaches you how to identify hazards, rate risks consistently using a likelihood-severity matrix, and select the most effective controls using the Hierarchy of Controls. You will practice applying elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE to real workplace scenarios. By the end, you will be able to produce a defensible risk assessment for common workplace hazards. This module teaches you how to respond when something goes wrong or nearly goes wrong at work. You will learn to capture facts accurately, preserve evidence at the scene, and clearly separate immediate containment actions from the deeper root-cause investigation that prevents recurrence. By the end, you will be able to produce a defensible incident record and drive learning across your team. This module teaches you how to deliver clear, concise safety briefings that workers actually remember, and how to respond confidently when emergencies occur on site. You will learn a repeatable briefing structure, techniques to verify understanding, and the core actions expected during fires, injuries, evacuations, and near-miss events. By the end, you will be able to run a short pre-shift briefing and know exactly what to do when an alarm sounds. This module guides you through the final and often most critical stage of a workplace safety inspection: closing it out properly. You will learn how to consolidate findings, prioritize them by risk, assign corrective actions, and verify that the fixes actually happened and worked. By the end, you will be able to run a complete inspection cycle with confidence and produce closure evidence that stands up to scrutiny.
