As a Design Authority the selected candidate is responsible for solution design for a project, platform enhancement, or application enhancement that transforms the architectural concepts and principles of Digital/CCB into a technical design for development teams to execute.
The design authority does not establish architectural principles and guidelines, but understands these and enforces them throughout the platform/services that are leveraged in the designs.
The design authority works closely with Architects, Application Architects, Data and Information Architecture, and Development resources to ensure that project requirements are met in a manner consistent with the Architectural roadmap of the platform/application/product being delivered / designed.
To ensure adherence to design principles, the design authority will produce technical solutions that are to be reviewed by associated stakeholders for consistency and roadmap adherence throughout the development cycle, but principally at project/deliverable initiation.
In cases where the project/initiative is not deemed to require new architectural principles/guidance, then both a high-level and detailed technical approach will be produced.
In cases where the design relies on architectural or significant platform or policy changes, then architecture team will develop the high-level design, to be closely followed by the design authority with a more-detailed technical approach.
The candidate must seek to build consensus between and support from architecture, development, product, Line of Business and other stakeholders to ensure that the design is understood and accepted in achievement of the requirements.
The candidate must understand and accept the architectural principles and guidelines, compliance and audit and risk constraints, and delivery, performance and platform requirements, to tie all of these together into an accepted and executable design.
o Service-oriented architecture and middleware o Knowledge of data models, data typing, and data security and relationship database concepts o Understanding of framework concepts o Strong technical leadership and technical risk management o Relevant degree of work experience o Strong web UI experience JavaScript, HTML 5 and CSS3
o Effective written and verbal communicator with excellent reasoning and presentation skills o Experience of testing at the unit, integration and system levels.
o Experience with Web Servers and Application Server, such as Apache and WebSphere or similar o Experience with Continuous Integration or Continuous Delivery o Familiarity with some form of Messaging technology, such as MQ or similar o Experience with some type of document or content management system o Strong sense of virtual teams and consensus building
