Alpharetta, GA (Onsite from day 1)
The Application Engineer ensures that all in-house and 3rd party applications conform to our configuration and deployment standards so that every application can be deployed, monitored and managed in a consistent and reliable fashion.
Integrate applications using a common build, QA and deployment process.
Write and maintain scripts (shell, Perl or python) to automate the application configuration/ installation process.
Work with development, QA, business/product & Operations to ensure successful application launches.
Configure Apache, Tomcat, Tuxedo, IBM MQ and in-house platforms.
Create and maintain documentation to support the full life cycle of an application
On-call for 2nd level QA and PRD support.
B.S. degree in computer science or related field.
Overall experience of 10+ years required
8+ years' experience in Unix/Linux administration.
8+ years' experience in scripting Shell, Perl or Python.
IBM MQ configuration and deployment.
6+ years' experience of configuring and deploying web and application servers.
Knowledge of Unix/Linux administration, file systems.
Skilled in writing scripts in shell, Perl or Python.
Knowledge of web server and, application server configuration.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
What are the top 3 Must Haves for this role?
Linux, Apache, Tomcat, and any scripting language (Perl or Python or Bash).
