Application Engineer
Job description
Job Summary The Application Engineer is responsible for serving as a technical resource for customers requiring engineered hose assembly solutions This role works directly with customers to evaluate application requirements recommend appropriate products prepare quotations and support the successful delivery of customer specific solutions The position partners closely with sales manufacturing and internal stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy strong customer support and timely execution Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work directly with customers via phone email and virtual meetings to understand application requirementsEvaluate operating conditions including pressure temperature media compatibility flow requirements movement vibration environmental exposure and regulatory requirementsRecommend appropriate hose assemblies fittings couplings and related fluid transfer productsAssist customers in troubleshooting existing hose assembly issues and identifying replacement solutionsProvide technical guidance regarding installation maintenance and product selectionPrepare accurate and timely quotationsReview customer drawings specifications RFQs and technical documentationDevelop bills of material and pricing recommendationsFollow up on quotations to support order conversion and customer satisfactionCoordinate with inside sales and manufacturing teams to ensure customer expectations are metAssist in the selection and specification of PTFE metal composite hydraulic industrial silicone and aerospace hose assembliesInterpret customer specifications and industry standardsSupport custom engineered solutions for challenging applicationsMaintain product knowledge across Flexlines portfolio of hose assemblies fittings valves and fluid transfer componentsParticipate in customer training and technical presentations as requiredWork closely with manufacturing quality purchasing and sales teamsSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to quoting customer responsiveness and technical documentationAssist with maintaining product data application guides and technical resourcesQualifications Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Engineering Technology or a related technical field is preferred Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be consideredStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support customers and collaborate across internal teamsExperience reviewing technical drawings specifications RFQs and related documentationStrong attention to detail organization product knowledge and follow through in a fast paced environmentCommitment to delivering a high level of customer service and technical supportEducation and Experience Prior experience in application engineering technical sales support manufacturing or a related customer facing engineering environment is preferredPhysical Requirements and Work Environment This position primarily operates in an office and manufacturing support environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones and other communication tools The role may require sitting standing walking and occasional lifting of light materials up to 15 pounds Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Benefits Health Medical Dental Company sponsored employee only HDHP401kLife InsurancePet InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program EAP
