Job Title: Application Operations Engineer (AppOps)

Location: Cincinnati, OH

• Application Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
• Implement and manage robust monitoring tools to track application performance metrics.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks and performance issues, and optimize applications for speed and efficiency.
• Incident Management:
• Lead incident response efforts, coordinate with relevant teams, and ensure timely resolution of application-related issues.
• Establish and maintain incident management protocols, including post-incident analysis and reporting.
• Infrastructure Management:
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure the underlying systems and networks support application requirements.
• Provide input on infrastructure enhancements and upgrades to improve application stability and scalability.
• Release Management:
• Work closely with development teams to plan and execute smooth application releases.
• Coordinate testing efforts, rollback procedures, and communication strategies for new releases.
• Capacity Planning:
• Conduct capacity planning exercises to anticipate future resource needs based on application usage trends.
• Provide recommendations for scaling infrastructure and application components to accommodate growth.
• Security and Compliance:
• Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain security best practices within the application environment.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to application operations.
• Documentation and Training:
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for application configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Conduct training sessions for internal teams to enhance their understanding of application operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience in application operations, with a focus on performance optimization and incident management.
• Strong understanding of application architectures, microservices, and containerization technologies.
• Proficiency in monitoring tools, deployment automation, and version control systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Relevant certifications such as Azure Certified DevOps Engineer, ITIL, or similar, are a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in application operations and DevOps roles.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex, high-traffic applications in a fast-paced environment.
