HybridGlobal Financial Firm located in Mississauga, ON has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Application Support AnalystYou will need to have reliable internet, computer and android or iphone for remote access into the client systems during remote work.

Provide technical and business support for users of our applications, including quick resolutions to app issues and driving improvements in stability, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Maintain application systems that are in the daily operations phase of the firm.
Manage, maintain, and support applications and their operating environments, focusing on stability, quality, and functionality against service level expectations.
Conduct start of day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handovers.
Perform same day risk reconciliations.
Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
Identify ways to maximize the potential of the applications used.
Assess risk and impact of production issues and escalate to business and technology management in a timely manner.
Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are in place and functioning correctly.
Formulate and define scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and problem resolution.
Review and develop application contingency planning to ensure availability to users.
Partner with appropriate development and production support areas to prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements.
Participate in application releases, from development, testing, and deployment into production.
Engage in post-implementation analysis to ensure successful system design and functionality.Consider implications of the application of technology to the current environment, identifying risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues, and communicate impact.
Ensure essential procedures are followed and help to define operating standards and processes.
Raise problems to appropriate technology and business teams while adhering to Service Level Agreements.Directly impact the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impact own team and closely related work teams.
Exhibit sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information.
Actively involve in and own Support Project items, covering Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives.
Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
3-5 years' experience in an Application Support role.
Experience installing, configuring, or supporting business applications.
Experience with some programming languages and willingness/ability to learn.Effective written and verbal communications, including the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms that non-IT staff can understand.
Issue tracking and reporting using tools.
Knowledge/experience of problem Management Tools.
Good all-round technical skills.
Effectively share information with other support team members and with other technology teams.
Ability to plan and organize workload.
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholders.
Ability to understand, prioritize incidents, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Oracle/SQL extensive experience in any of the RDBMS [Relational Database Management Systems].
Extensive knowledge on Unix/Linux/Windows.
Shell scripting/Perl (added advantage).
Autosys.
MQ protocol, Fix Protocol layer (added advantage).
Experience in Production support or software development, preferably in the banking industry.
Experience in ITIL would be beneficial.
Experience in a demanding environment, working to strict deadlines, and a good multitasker.
Experience in a service-based environment would be beneficial.
Experience in analyzing and solving problems.
