Location: Dallas, TX or Tampa, FL

Contract-to-Hire | Industry: Financial Services

Experience Level: Mid-Senior (4+ years)

About the Role

Were seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer to join a leading financial services organization. Youll play a critical role in maintaining production application stability, resolving incidents, implementing automation, and supporting audits and disaster recovery for complex enterprise platforms. This is a contract-to-hire position for professionals with strong hands-on skills in both application and infrastructure layers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, triage, and resolve critical production alerts and application defects.
  • Own end-to-end incident resolution and root cause analysis with a proactive mindset.
  • Review and maintain knowledge base articles and runbooks in collaboration with development teams.
  • Support audit responses, BCM documentation, and disaster recovery execution.
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual work in application monitoring and support.
  • Lead and execute production deployments, including vendor application upgrades.
  • Collaborate closely with internal dev teams to provide feedback into application design.
  • Promote and align with risk and control processes throughout daily support activities.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in application support or related IT roles.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Java/J2EE, Oracle/SQL, IBM MQ,
    • ServiceNow (SNOW) / ITIL processes,
    • Splunk, Autosys
  • Proficient in Linux/Unix environments and cloud platforms like AWS.
  • Solid understanding of application infrastructure and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Bachelors degree preferred (or equivalent technical experience).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes or other containerization technologies.
  • Familiarity with IIB (IBM Integration Bus) and basic networking concepts.
  • Background in the Finance & Securities domain.
  • Passion for transparency, collaborative teamwork, and ongoing learning.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional engagement skills.

  • Candidates must be local to Dallas, TX or Tampa, FL.
  • This is a W2-only contract-to-hire role.
  • US Citizens and Green Card holders only.
