Senior AI Engineer – Applied Machine Learning A high-growth technology company is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to build and deploy advanced machine learning systems powering complex, real-world applications. The team focuses on delivering scalable, production-grade AI solutions across a range of domains, working closely with both software and data engineering groups.

The Role

You’ll own the full lifecycle of AI/ML development — from data exploration and model design through to deployment and ongoing optimization. This role suits someone who enjoys both breadth (multiple AI domains) and depth (hands-on model development and tuning). Hybrid working (3 days onsite) in the Bay Area.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement machine learning models for production use
• Work across areas such as large language models, computer vision, and time-series data
• Build and optimize retrieval-based systems and RAG pipelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Contribute to best practices across model development, evaluation, and deployment

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in machine learning or AI engineering
• Strong programming skills (Python and/or C++)
• Hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch or similar)
• Proven experience building and deploying RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems
• Experience with vector search / retrieval systems (e.g. FAISS or similar)
• Experience with data processing and distributed systems (e.g. Spark or equivalent)
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and containerized environments
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience working on edge devices, embedded systems, or performance-constrained environments
