Acumen GroupAcumen Group is partnering with a Tampa-based P&C Insurer looking to bring on an experienced Assistant Controller to support accounting operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
This role partners closely with the Controller and works cross-functionally with underwriting, claims, and actuarial teams.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules
Assist with GAAP and statutory financial statements, including NAIC filings
Ensure compliance with insurance regulations, GAAP and SAP
Support internal and external audits and internal controls
Partner on reserving, premium recognition, budgeting, and forecasting
Identify process improvements and support treasury activities
Act as backup to the Controller as needed
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA)
5–7+ years of accounting experience (P&C insurance experience preferred)
Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
