Position Overview

Marathon TS is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer with strong Linux administration expertise to support operations and sustainment (O&S) efforts within an enterprise Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment. This role is responsible for engineering, maintaining, securing, and optimizing Linux-based cloud systems while supporting infrastructure modernization, automation initiatives, and cloud-native architecture development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering enterprise Linux environments in secure, compliance-driven federal environments and supporting Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments in production cloud systems.

This is a hands-on engineering role supporting mission-critical systems in a classified environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and maintain secure Linux-based infrastructure within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or Oracle Linux systems in production environments.

Support Oracle Database integrations and backend infrastructure services.

Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Ansible.

Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using CloudBees Jenkins.

Develop and support cloud-native architecture solutions.

Perform system performance tuning, patching, and hardening.

Ensure compliance with DoD security requirements and STIG standards.

Monitor system availability, scalability, and reliability.

Support disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies.

Collaborate with development, database, and cybersecurity teams to deliver resilient cloud solutions.

Required Qualifications

Active Secret clearance (fully adjudicated and current).

Current CompTIA Security+ certification (required for DoD 8570 compliance).

Strong experience with Linux administration (RHEL and/or Oracle Linux).

Experience supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Ansible.

Experience supporting automation and cloud-native architectures.

Experience supporting Oracle Database environments.

Experience supporting production systems in secure federal or DoD environments.

Preferred Qualifications

One or more DoD 8570 baseline certifications such as CISSP, CASP+ CE, CySA+, SSCP, CCNA, CAP, CSSLP, GSLC, CCISO, or CND.

Experience supporting enterprise DevSecOps pipelines.

Experience with cloud cost optimization strategies.

Experience with load balancing and high-availability configurations.

Experience supporting large-scale system migrations to cloud environments.
