Job Description

Senior Cloud Data Engineer We're working with a large public sector organization that is undergoing a major data modernization initiative. The team is building a modern enterprise data platform using AWS and Snowflake while migrating legacy data systems, databases, and reporting solutions to a scalable cloud-based environment. This position will play a key role in designing and implementing cloud data architectures, building enterprise data pipelines, and supporting data governance, security, and modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud-based data management solutions and data pipelines.
• Build and support enterprise data platforms leveraging AWS, Snowflake, Informatica (IICS), SQL, and Python.
• Design data architectures across both centralized and decentralized models, including Data Mesh concepts.
• Partner with technical and business stakeholders to define and implement scalable data solutions.
• Establish best practices around data engineering, governance, security, and performance optimization.
• Lead design discussions, review ETL requirements, and provide technical direction to project teams.
• Support CI/CD processes, orchestration workflows, and ongoing platform improvements.

Required Experience

• 5 years of experience with data engineering, ETL development, data warehousing, data modeling, and cloud data architecture.
• 3 years of hands-on AWS experience.
• 5 years of Snowflake experience.
• Experience building and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines.
• Strong experience with Informatica IICS, SQL, Python, Airflow, and GitHub/CI-CD.
• Experience working with large-scale enterprise data platforms.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance best practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both business and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS or Cloud Data Engineering certifications.
• Snowflake certification.
• Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI.
• Experience working with highly regulated or sensitive data environments.
