About the Role:
Our Fortune 100 healthcare insurance client is building a centralized AI Gateway — the shared platform that lets application teams across the enterprise access GenAI and large language models securely, reliably, and at scale. We’re looking for a Cloud Machine Learning Engineer to help build and operate the infrastructure, automation, and controls behind these enterprise AI services. This is a hands-on cloud platform and MLOps engineering role: you’ll write Python, provision cloud infrastructure as code, configure the platform, and keep it reliable in production.
This is an engineering role focused on building and running production AI infrastructure — not a data science or model-research position — with room to grow your platform and MLOps skills alongside experienced Lead and Senior Cloud Machine Learning Engineers.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and maintain Python-based scripts, services, and APIs that support the AI Gateway and shared-service workflows
- Provision repeatable cloud infrastructure, configurations, and access controls using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Support configuration of model access, routing, quotas, secrets, and usage-tracking patterns
- Implement logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational telemetry for cloud AI services
- Deploy work through CI/CD pipelines and integrate AI services with Databricks, cloud platforms, and enterprise application teams
- Apply reliability, security, scalability, and cost-efficiency practices to shared AI services
- Contribute to guardrails, runbooks, onboarding documentation, and incident response
What You Bring:
- Proficiency in Python
, with the ability to explain code you’ve personally built (scripts, services, automation, or APIs)
- Hands-on cloud experience
— AWS preferred; strong Azure or GCP experience also welcome
- Infrastructure as Code
— practical exposure to Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Solid software engineering fundamentals
— Git/version control, debugging, testing, reusable code, API/service concepts, plus CI/CD and cloud operational fundamentals (IAM/access controls, secrets, logging, monitoring, troubleshooting)
- Education
— Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with relevant internship, co-op, capstone, research, or project experience in Python and cloud engineering
- Preferred
— Databricks (Model Serving, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog), MLOps/model-serving, AI Gateway/API Gateway concepts, LLM APIs or RAG, AI governance/security (PII/PHI protection), observability/FinOps, or an AWS, Azure, or GCP certification
