CNC Programmer/Operator

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible to safely and efficiently produce machined parts by means of programming using Mastercam andor Fusion setting up and operating a computer numerical control CNC machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies A ProgrammerOperators core objective is to ensure CNC machines are properly utilized though optimizing programs and daily production runs using the approved design and engineering ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Plan machines by carefully studying work orders drawings and other technical dataProgram CNC by entering the instructions including zero and reference points; setting tool registers offsets compensation and conditional switches; calculating requirements including basic math geometry and trigonometry; proving part programsFeed mechanism to be loaded by lifting stock into positionVerify the settings by measuring positions first run part and sample work pieces; adhering to standardsSpecifications should be maintained by observing drilling grooving and cutting; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processesAdhere to safety procedures and regulations by maintaining safe operationsComplete preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs to maintain the equipment properly to avoid unwanted and alarming situationsContinuity to be maintained among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing needsActions to be documented by completing production and quality logsProactive Participation in educational opportunities; reading technical publications to update job knowledge on ongoing basis to stay updatedAccept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment to accomplish organizational goalsOther duties not specifically covered herein but otherwise assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION EXPERIENCE LICENSES ETC Education and experience through vocational school technical college or apprenticeships 5 to 7 years is preferred Must have completed training and programming on CNC machineProficient in Microsoft Office Suite Working knowledge of an MRP Material Resources Planning system strongly preferred; Corridor software a plusAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentationREQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Computer Aided Design with an emphasis in Model Based Definition DrawingsAdvanced mathematics problem solving and computer skills and the ability to know how and when to use themKey competencies related to working with a diverse group of individuals and departments are desirableFrequent need to give concentrated attention with one or two senses at a time where stimuli are changingOccasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines production quotas accuracy or similar demandsWilling to complete on the job training OJT in accordance with FCC Repair Station ManualWilling to travel domestically and internationally when requiredWORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment described here is representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations The location where this position functions is in a production environment which is subject to constant exposure to loud noise potential contact with hazardousnon hazardous waste material and other safety hazards such as production tools aircraft monuments interior components divans chairs other cabinets etc
