Job Summary
Department:
Turbine Controls SW/HW Engineering The Gas Turbine Control Software Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of control software for Gas turbines.
This role requires a deep understanding of control systems, software engineering, and Gas turbine operations.

Control software have a strong background in control theory, software development, and experience with industrial automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop control system Hardware for power plants.
- Review customer specification and determine project deliverables, identify potential risks.
- Evaluate of Distributed Control System (DCS) for new and modernization installations, I/O list preparation.
- Participate in Site surveys, Design review meeting, site readiness meeting, factory acceptance testing.
- Develop IO list and IO channel allocation.
- Basic and detailed engineering of DCS system Control cabinets.
- Heat load calculation for DCS/ PLC cabinets.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers.
- Participate in the Site installation supervision of control system hardware
- Conceptualize the control design and present it to customer as part of customer design review.
- Prepares and updates engineering documentation including installation work packages.
- Create Loop drawings Field instrumentation.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in control systems and software engineering.
- Guides the designing, developing, and implementing very complex hardware solutions while adhering to manufacturing capabilities.
- Working knowledge on DCS, PLC hardware and I/O types.
- Working knowledge on Connectivity of thirdparty systems with DCS which includes DNP 3.0, Modbus, IEC 61850, TCP/IP and Profibus.
- Basic knowledge of IT networking for Distributed Control system (DCS)/ PLC applications
- Working knowledge on AutoCAD Electrical.
Skills required
- Conduct technical reviews and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Digital and Analogue circuits design knowledge
- Knowledge of Engineering Process and power plant application.
- Working knowledge on DCS, PLC hardware and I/O types.
- Working knowledge on Connectivity of thirdparty systems with DCS which includes DNP 3.0, Modbus, IEC 61850, TCP/IP and Profibus.
- Basic knowledge of IT networking for Distributed Control system (DCS)/ PLC applications
- Working knowledge on AutoCAD Electrical.
- Industry standards like UL 508A, CSA, API standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in control Hardware for industrial applications, preferably in the energy sector.
- Experience with industrial automation systems and PLC hardware
- Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC).
- Willingness to travel for site commissioning and support activities.
Pay range between $60hr to $80hr.
Pay rate depends on skillset, education, and experience.
