Our client is a growing manufacturing company seeking a Controller. This role is highly operational and hands-on, supporting a production-driven environment with multiple active builds in progress at any given time.
This is not a back-office role. The Controller will be closely connected to operations, purchasing, and job costing, with visibility into how projects are built and delivered.
The company is entering a period of sustained growth and is looking for a steady, capable finance leader to support scale.
WIP & Job Costing
Maintain accurate WIP schedules across multiple simultaneous builds
Track labor, materials, purchasing, and job coding at the project level
Support percent-completion revenue recognition
Partner with operations to ensure real-time financial visibility
Month-End & Core Accounting
Own journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close
Maintain GAAP-aligned financials
Support external advisors as needed
Work closely with production and purchasing teams
Ensure financial data reflects actual shop activity
Support pricing, costing, and margin analysis
Systems & Process Ownership
Own the ERP and job-costing system (Sage 100 experience a plus)
Improve workflows, documentation, and internal controls
Help build scalable finance processes as the business grows
Manage and mentor AR and junior finance staff
Serve as the day-to-day finance leader for the business
Hands-on accounting background in manufacturing or job-costing environments
Strong understanding of WIP schedules and percent-completion accounting
Comfortable in a blue-collar, production-focused culture
Detail-driven, reliable, and operationally curious
Candidates will be asked to complete a Culture Index assessment as part of the process.
