EngtalMy client iis looking for a Controller to join their finance leadership team in Milwaukee. This is a high impact role for an experienced accounting and finance professional who thrives in an operationally focused, industry environment.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with deep technical accounting knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to accuracy and process excellence.
Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP.
Manage the month end and year end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes; provide insightful variance analysis and recommendations.
Develop, implement, and strengthen internal controls and financial policies.
Direct and mentor the accounting team including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
Partner with senior leadership to support strategic planning, operational decision-making, and business performance improvement.
Coordinate external audits and tax engagements; prepare schedules and respond to inquiries.
Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and support tax planning initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or leadership roles — industry experience strongly preferred.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience with GAAP financial reporting.
Proven experience developing and improving accounting processes and controls.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems; experience implementing or optimizing financial systems a plus.
Strategic mindset with ability to think critically and coach team members.
