London ApproachA well-established and growing organization is seeking a Controller to lead the financial operations of one of its expanding business units.
This is a newly created role due to growth, offering strong visibility with senior leadership and the opportunity to make a meaningful operational impact.
This opportunity is ideal for an accounting leader who enjoys being hands-on, partnering with operations, and working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Oversee divisional accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
Lead job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting
Prepare and review monthly financial statements with leadership
Analyze project cost reports and partner with operational teams to identify risks and opportunities
Support job closeouts and ensure accurate final project billings
Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Supervise and mentor a small accounting team
Experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing, or other project-based environments
Strong understanding of job costing and percent-complete accounting
Solid GAAP foundation across the full accounting cycle
Prior leadership experience or a Senior-level professional ready to step into a Controller role
Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with operations
