Position Controller Industry Construction Must Have Schedule M F Full time Onsite Location UT Compensation 150K 180K NOW CFO is partnering with an established growing construction company in Utah to find its next Controller As Controller youll make sure leadership has accurate timely numbers on every job from project setup through month end close Youll work closely with ownership the CFO and project teams to keep the books clean strengthen job costing and billing and deliver reporting that leadership can manage with confidence We value candidates who have hands on controller experience in the construction industry and hold relevant certifications The ideal candidate excels at high level and managerial accounting You should also be skilled at job costing WIP schedules and progress billing You understand the details that make construction accounting different such as retainage change orders lien waivers and certified payroll You know how to build processes that keep those details from slipping through the cracks Ultimately youll make sure the company stays compliant gets paid on time and has a clear view of how each job is performing Responsibilities Manage the month end close and prepare accurate timely financial statementsSet up and maintain job cost structures cost codes and budgets for each projectPrepare WIP schedules and overunder billing reportsOversee progress billing including AIA G702G703 retainage tracking and change order documentationManage accounts payable and receivable including lien waivers and subcontractor compliance such as insurance certificates and 1099sOversee payroll including certified payroll prevailing wage and union reporting where applicableImplement and strengthen internal controls and accounting proceduresSupport revenue recognition under ASC 606 and percentage of completion accountingPrepare financial packages for lenders sureties and CPAs and support audits and year end reportingProvide job profitability analysis and cash flow reporting to leadershipSupervise train and develop accounting staffRequirements Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related fieldController experience in the construction industryStrong knowledge of GAAP job costing and construction revenue recognitionExperience preparing WIP schedules and progress billingsExperience with construction accounting software eg Sage 300 CRE Sage Intacct Construction Viewpoint Vista Foundation or QuickBooks ContractorExperience with certified payroll or prevailing wage reporting preferredInternal auditing experienceCPA preferredExcellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with project managers and field teamsStrong attention to detail and the ability to meet close deadlinesBenefits Competitive compensationCareer growth opportunities401k401k matchingDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceIND2
