We're looking for a seasoned financial professional to join our growing organization! This critical role manages and directs all financial accounting, managerial accounting, budgeting and systems within Select Genetics.
Controller works in close partnership with Senior Leadership Team members, division and department leaders to help drive strategic operational decisions that will result in growth and sustained profitability for the company. An established ability to promote engagement and collaboration across mulitiple divisions is important in this role.
Partners with leadership team to support decision-making by providing analysis and insights regarding business operations as they relate to financial information. Presents information and makes recommendations.
Oversees long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with Select Genetics’ strategic plan.
Serves as financial resource to managers to help identify and troubleshoot any areas requiring special attention or analysis and recommends action for improvement.
Provides cash projections to ensure adequate funding for strategic plans.
Ensures systems (MTech, Dynamics AX,) and processes are in place to support the needs of Select Genetics and its customers.
Oversees core services partnership with LSI, including A/P, A/R, credit, payroll, cash management, insurance, credit card administration. Reviews processes to ensure efficient and effective partnership.
Reviews, examines, and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to GAAP reporting and procedural standards.
Projects future revenues and expenses by analyzing business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations.
Helps develop, maintain and analyze budgets, and prepares reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
Monitors and confirms the company’s financial condition through effective internal processes.
Serves as internal lead with external audits.
Applies GAAP principles of accounting to prepare, examine, analyze, and interpret financial information.
Participates in the development of company CapEx plans through the development of ROI analysis, open job status reporting ensuring that CIP’s are completed and processed according to established procedures and ensures that project managers submit required information for accurate tracking.
Develops, implements, and maintains accounting, costing, and administrative policies and procedures related to financial accounting and reporting.
Provides the status of the organizations’ financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting on key financial metrics.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements, anticipates future legislation; enforces adherence to requirements, assists in filing required financial reports and advises management on any needed actions.
Provides overall office management for the Accounting and Admin department.
Builds and engages a high performing team through recruiting, feedback, development and mentoring employees.
Ensures correct processing of financial documents in an efficient manner.
Accomplishes operational performance goals through effective planning, scheduling, assignments of team members and process developments to achieve results.
Completes operational requirements by effective planning, scheduling, assigning staff, process development and overseeing the achievement of results within the following functions:
Month-end/Year-end
Strong knowledge in financial forecasting, accounting principles and financial data analysis.
In-depth understanding of GAAP.
Familiarity with current finance and accounting related laws and regulations.
Computer-based accounting and inventory systems.
Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting methods.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business software including ERP systems.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Possess strong leadership skills and business acumen.
Coordination and monitoring of others’ actions.
Prioritize and delegate responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner
Ability to make important decisions with integrity and solid moral judgment.

Extensive experience in finance/accounting functions with strong financial vision and insight.
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, 5 years in a senior accounting role.
Previous experience leading/managing one or more accounting functions preferred.
Previous experience in flock cost accounting preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred but not required.
